Kigali: Belgium's second league side Antwerp FC have signed striker Salomon Nirisarike from Rwandan club Isonga FC in a two-year deal.

The 18-year-old Rwandan soccer player passed a medical before completing the deal for an undisclosed fee, a newspaper reported.

Antwerp FC opened up discussions with Nirisarike last month, but the player returned to Rwanda after passing a medical test making clear that he would only join the Belgium club after being cleared by his local club Isonga FC.

Nirisarike is the second Rwandan player recruited recently by clubs in European leagues after Elias Uzamukunda joined French club Cannes in 2008.
