New Delhi: The present tug of war, which was going on between the Thackerays’ versus Digvijay Singh, won’t seem to die down, with the former terming the Congress General Secretary’s ancestor as perfidious.

A write up in Saamana, the mouthpiece of right wing Shiv Sena, claimed that the Digvijay Singh’s ancestors were disloyal. It went on to further claim that they were informers of the Britishers and the Mughals. At the same time, heaps of praises were showered on the predecessors of the Thackerays’. It claimed that they were brave soldiers in the Shivaji’s army and fought for Hindu Swaraj.

The article also suggested that an inquiry should be made into Digvijay’s family. History revealed that Digvijay, who was the king of Radhogarh territory, descends from a Khichi Rajput family.

Survey of Khichi trust from Jodhpur, whose authors were – AH Nizami and GA Khichi -- claimed that the Khichi Rajputs’ had got the notoriety for fighting in lieu of money.

It is to be noted that there is an intense ‘cold war’ going on between the Thackerays’ and Digvijay’s family. The entire Thackerays’ have united and slammed Digvijay Singh for his comments pointing that the Thackerays’ originally belonged to Bihar.

Digvijay’s comment came from his book which he had written on them. The rest had come from the Saamana. After going through the comments of Digvijay, Uddhav Thackeray, the executive president of the Shiv Sena, had gone on record to term the Congress General Secretary as mad.
