Lucknow: As the high court deadline to finish the probe into Dr Sachan murder case coming closer, the Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) is having sleepless nights.
According to the sources, the CBI would seek two-month extension to finish the probe into the CMO’s murder case.

On July 14, the High Court bench comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice Rituraj ordered the CBI to investigate the case and submit a report in three months. The deadline ends next week.

Owing to the changes in the investigating team several times, CBI has yet not reached any conclusion in the probe.

Dr Sachan, who was an accused in the sensational murders of two CMOs and NRHM scam, was found dead in Lucknow jail on the night of June 22. The jail authorities had declared Sachan’s death a suicide. But on the protest by Sachan’s family and relatives, the state government on July 13 recommended a CBI probe into the matter.
