Mumbai: The Maharastra government has passed a proposal for constructing a museum for Sachin Tendulkar in Pune.

The state government wants to construct Sachin’s museum which can accommodate all achievements right from his childhood. The government had passed this proposal last year providing Rs 40 crore for the museum.

As searching the land in Mumbai proved to be a big challenge, the government decided to shift museum to Pune. The Standing Committee of Pune Municipal Corporation on Tuesday passed the proposal for the construction of museum giving an acre of land in Balevadi area of the city.

Opposition Leader in Civic Body, Rajhans Singh, said there is no dearth of land in Mumbai. The Shiv Sena is not interesting to give land, so museum is going to Pune, he said.

Both the Houses of the Maharastra Assembly on Tuesday passed the proposal of sending recommendation to the Central government for Bharatna Ratna to Sachin.
