Dhuri (Sangrur): Amidst save Bhullar campaign, which is gaining momentum in the country and overseas as well, Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has announced that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) would once again appeal in the Supreme Court to commute the death sentence of Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar.

Bhullar is now on death row awaiting gallows after being convicted in a 1993 car bombing near the Indian Youth Congress office in New Delhi.

Chief Minister Badal was speaking to reporters after Sangat Darshan organised in his assembly constituency Dhuri on Sunday. Here, he distributed cheques of Rs. 6 crore 75 lakhs to the Panchayats of 75 villages for the development works.

When asked about keeping the Prime Minister out of Lokpal jurisdiction, he reserved his comments saying the SAD may have a different opinion from the BJP on this issue.

Slamming Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Captain Amarinder Singh, Badal said, “Leader like him can’t be familiar with the problems of common people, whereas we hear their grievances by going to them.”
