Ghaziabad: With Commissioner of Railway Safety yet to issue the safety certificate, the start of third railway track on the Ghaziabad-Dadri section route has been delayed.

If Railway officials are to be believed the delay in issuing the safety certificate has extended the deadline for the project.

It is worth mentioning that a new rail track is being laid on the important Delhi-Howrah route. Under the project, four lane rail tracks have been laid from Delhi to Ghaziabad. The process has also been completed on Aligarh-Dadri route.

With the rail track between Ghaziabad station and Chipyana not in operation, only two tracks are being used on Ghaziabad-Dadri route. The inter-locking work is yet to be completed on this route. The safety certificate was to be issued by the second week of August. However, the delay has extended the project to the last week of August.

Initially, the Railway officials had planned to conduct the trial run in the last week of August and thereafter use of track on regular basis from the first week of September. The delay in getting the safety certificate has delayed the project by around two weeks.
