Ranchi: Being vocal against the anti-encroachment drive of Jharkhand government, Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay said on Monday that the ruling BJP would pay a heavy price for displacing people by its ongoing demolition drive.

Taking a swipe at BJP leaders, the Union Minister said that even the party head office at Ranchi was constructed illegally.

He also gave an ultimatum by saying that if the government does not take any initiative to rehabilitate the displaced people in the next few days, Congress will hold a string of protests in the state.

Sahay also alleged that Chief Minister Arjun Munda has gifted the evacuated lands to industrialists who helped him to form his government.

He didnot spare BJP leaders Yashwant sinha and Raghubar Das who opened a front against their own government on the issue. Terming their protest as ‘drama’, Sahay said that if the BJP leaders were annoyed over the issue, they should tender their resignation from their respective party posts.
