I have satin pants. As the fabric is shiny I am little confused as to how to carry it off. Is it possible to reduce the shine?

Satin is soft and comfortable fabric. So you should stick to wearing a garment made of this fabric for special occasions. You have not specified about the cut of your trousers. Always team up a fitted trousers with loose top and vice versa. If worn with high heels, you will get a formal look and if you wear this combination with flats then a casual look. To reduce the shine of satin trousers wear it with a neutral coloured top. Hosiery top will look very elegant with satin pants.
