New Delhi: With giving blockbuster hits like Dabangg, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger, actor Salman Khan has also emerged as the highest taxpayer of Bollywood in September.

According to the income tax department, the eye candy of tinsel town paid Rs 8 crore as advance tax this year. He had paid Rs 5 crore last year for the same period.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan outpaced her female peers and paid Rs 3 crore as advance tax, despite her absence from the silver screen after Guzaarish, which was released in 2010.
Katrina Kaif was the second-highest taxpayer after Aish among the female actors of Bollywood. She paid Rs 2.60 crore as tax in this quarter which ends in September.

Salman’s last few films especially romantic-thriller ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ had set the cash registers ringing by grossing Rs 198 crore.

His bête noire Shah Rukh Khan who hasn’t had any big release this year along with perfectionist Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and the chote nawab Saif Ali Khan had their tax outgo at lesser numbers as compared to that of Salman’s.

Furthermore god of Indian cricket – Sachin Tendulkar- also paid lesser advance tax of Rs 2 crore in September quarter.
