New Delhi: Bollywood heart-throb Salman Khan is upset over the allegations made by Jiah Khan’s mother Rabiya Khan, who claimed that it was the actor who intervened in Jiah- Sooraj’s relationship and persuaded Sooraj to break up with Jiah. The Dabbang star has rejected all such allegations and termed them as baseless.

Salman Khan said that he had nothing to do with the love affair and that he wasn’t even aware of Jiah and Sooraj’s relationship. He also said that he sympathizes with Jiah’s bereaved family, but the charges framed by Jiah’s mother against him were absurd.

"I was not even aware of Suraj and Jiah’s relationship. I got to know of it through a news magazine," Salman Khan said.  He also said that he found the debate ridiculous and has no clue why his name was dragged in this.

Salman’s name was first mentioned by Rabia Khan, mother of the deceased actress, in her statement to the police. She has reportedly told the police that Aditya Pancholi was not happy with his son Sooraj’s relationship with Jiah. Aditya allegedly discussed the matter with Salman and in turn the latter tried to persuade Sooraj to break up with the deceased actress. Salman rubbished the statement, saying his name is unnecessarily being drawn in the matter.

Salman Khans’s sister Arpita Khan has also come out in his defence and has vent her anger over the comments made on social networking site Twitter. “People need to get their facts right first. Let the law take its course, and I am sure the truth will prevail. It's wrong to frame any opinion. We have known the Pancholis & Shettys since long, they wouldn’t use Bhai’s name for publicity,” Arpita said on Twitter.

Salman Khan was to launch Suraj Pancholi in the remake of Subhash Ghai’s Hero. Suraj was to make his Bollywood debut opposite Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty.
