Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan has played the Good Samaritan by obliging to fellow star Aamir Khan's request to postpone the release of his upcoming film 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

The Yash Raj production, starring Salman and ex-flame Katrina Kaif in lead roles, will now be released during Eid next year instead of its scheduled release of June 1, 2012.

The release was postponed since Aamir wanted to release his next film, directed by Reema Kagti, on June 1 and requested Salman and producer Aditya Chopra to reschedule the release of 'Ek tha Tiger'.

Owing to the close relationship and mutual respect they share, both Aditya and Salman were happy to oblige and shift the release to Eid, A Yash Raj Films (YRF) statement issued here said.

Eid is considered a lucky time for Salman as his previous three films 'Wanted', 'Dabangg' and 'Bodyguard' managed to cash in on the festival hype and rake in the moolah at the box office.

Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya, 'Ek Tha Tiger' is based on a story by Aditya and the screenplay and dialogues have been written by Kabir and Neelesh Misra.

Aseem Mishra, who earlier worked with Kabir on 'New York', is the director of photography. The music is composed
by Suhail Sen.

The film is currently being shot in Dublin from where it moves on to Turkey for its next schedule.
