After giving hints towards giving up the Mainpuri seat, Mulayam is gearing up to hoist SP flag in 12 Vihdan Sabha seats and one Lok Sabha constituency. By collecting written reports from all district presidents, general secretaries and mahanagar chiefs, a message has been sent that from organization to Cabinet, those found of putting up a lackluster show would be scrutinized.

Mulayam, in presence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday, held deliberations on party’s poor performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, where it could bag only five seats out of total 80.

Taking this very issue forward, he met district presidents and general secretaries on Wednesday. A few leaders were of the view that the ministers neither undertake welfare task for the people nor lend ears to their appeals.

Even the officials of Chief Minister Secretariat could not bring the public welfare programmes on ground level.

During the meeting, the lack of coordination between the organization as well as government was also underlined. It was also noted that Akhilesh Yadav has a dual responsibility for being the Chief Minister as well the party’s state unit president.

Mulayam has called for overcoming all sorts of discrepancies and short-comings. According to sources, the SP supremo has also recalled the ‘good days’ of Samajwadi Party during his tenure as Chief Minister. He also spoke about the party’s struggling days and its attempts to touch new heights.

The district presidents and general secretaries have been asked to go out and interact with the people and address their problems. Mulayam has also asked the party members not to get disappointed and BJP has won the elections in a crooked and hypocrite manner.

He also pulled his party members and asked them to end all rifts and dissensions, which are hurting the party’s health and a message has also been sent to the party members that their differences should not be appeared publicly.

During the meet, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the government brought in the developmental agenda in its true spirit. He claimed that BJP has misused money and plotted a conspiracy to mislead the voters.

He, however, added that the government will move ahead with full confidence and keep the developmental works going on.
