Lucknow: With a view to consolidate Muslim vote bank ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, the Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh laid thrust to implement the recommendations made by the Sachar Committee.

Following the Union Law Minister’s statement of giving quota to minorities in education and employment schemes as per the recommendation of Sachar Committee, the SP leader said that the government should implement all the recommendations made by the Sachar and Ranganath Commission to improve the condition of the Muslims.

Mentioning about the commission reports, Yadav said reservation is the only solution to the problems of Muslims because the commission report clearly states that the condition of Muslims is worse than Dalits.

He said, “The Congress set up different commissions and committee to examine the conditions of Muslims. However, it failed to give any recommendation. The ruling government should implement the recommendations or clearly say that they are not in favour of any of the reports.”

In a direct attack on Salman Khurshid, General Secretary SP Azam Khan said that the Union Law Minister has deceived Muslim community in the name of reservation.
