Haridwar: Demanding a written proof of the notification issued by the state government for a CBI inquiry into the mysterious death of Swami Nigmanand, Swami Sampurnanand of Matri Sadan has refused to break his fast unto death.

Sampurnanand’s indefinite fast entered 14th day on Friday. 

Swami Nigmananad, a 34-year-old ascetic died here after fasting for two and a half months to save the river Ganga from pollution and to stop illegal sand quarrying in the holy river.

Taking serious note of Sampurnand fast unto death, the state government issued notification of CBI probe on August 10.

The president of Matri Sadan, Sawmi Shivanand Sarswati has made it clear that until strong evidence of notification is not provided, Sampurnand will continue his fast.

On Friday, Ayurvedic doctors examined Swami Sampurnanand. Medical officer, Ayurveda, Dr Uday Narayan Pandey informed that Sampurnanand's pulse rate and blood pressure is normal. His body weight has reached to 61 and for the first time in 14 days ketone bodies were detected in his urine test.
