Being one of the most talked about device, Galaxy J was first revealed in October 2013 under NTT DoCoMo's winter smartphone line-up. The device is powered by Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box operating system.

It runs on a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor along with 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone includes a five-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display and features a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It also possesses a 13.2-megapixel rear camera with BSI CMOS sensor and LED flash and houses a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

Galaxy J contains 32 GB of internal memory, which is further expandable up to 64GB through a microSD memory card. It owns 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and NFC as network connectivity options.
