As many as 92 cases of overheating, including 26 of burns and 55 cases of property damage came into light. Following the feedback, the company is reported to have announced the recall in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall is a costly setback for Samsung as the company had expected Galaxy Note 7 to bolster its sales. Samsung is reported to have said that the new Note 7 replacement devices will be available at retail in the United States until September 21.
