The company then announced the launch of a smartphone featuring a flexible display. Now, the Korean giant is reportedly building a competitor to the Google Glass, dubbed as the "Gear Glass."

The latest rumour comes via Eldar Murtazin's tweet, the founder of Russian website Mobile-review, BGR, where he claims that the Samsung-branded smart specs are lined up for a general release in spring 2014.

Samsung is rumoured to debut with its Gear Glass in the April-May timeframe, which suggests that Samsung's Gear Glass may go neck and neck with the Google Glass, which is likely to hit the market in 2014.

There are already couple of handsets from Samsung that are said to be in-the-making, and the news of this additional project adds even more excitement into the mix of things.
