Stuttgart: Sania Mirza and her American partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands progressed to the semifinals of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix after registering a straight sets win over Liezel Huber and Janette Husarova.
The unseeded Indo-American pair recorded a 7-5 6-4 win over the American-Slovakian combo in one hour and 20 minutes in the quarter-finals of the USD 795,707 clay court event.
Sania and her partner won five of the six breakpoints they earned in the match. They next face local favourite German team of Angelique Kerber and Andrea Petkovic.
