Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, currently lodged in Yerawada jail after being convicted in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, have been assigned by jail authorities to make paper files and do paper-binding.   
According to sources, the jail authorities are against assigning the 53-year-old actor any task which requires him to mingle with other inmates. Dutt will undertake this task inside his cell in Barrack No. 3.

The last time when he was in Yerawada Jail, Dutt had been given the work of knitting cane chairs in prison where the carpentry section produces a good volume of wooden furniture that is sold outside.

Dutt, who also made baskets under supervision of an instructor, was paid Rs 12.50 per day, equivalent to the wages paid to an unskilled worker in a jail. This time, he is likely to be paid Rs 25 to Rs 40 as his daily wage on the completion of the assigned job.

According to the jail authorities, inmates are also rewarded with a remission in punishment on the basis of their good work and good conduct.
