Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Sarabjit’s lawyer Awais Sheikh said, “The Pakistan government is considering the mercy petition of Sarabjit and likely to release him soon.”

Sheikh was hopeful of Sharabjit’s release and said that he will be released before the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Pakistan.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari himself indicated that a decision will be taken soon on Sarabjit issue, added the lawyer.

Sheikh has also penned down a book “Ajib Dastan” on the life of Sarabjit. The book contains the letter written by Sarabjit which narrates the story of his guiltlessness. Pak media has also given due coverage to the book.
