Son of local BJP leader and Tinsukia Zilla Parishad vice-president Lakheswar Moran, Kuldeep Moran, was kidnapped on August 1 from Tinsukia district.

"I appeal to the abductors to release the boy as a humanitarian gesture. Our government believes that violence will achieve nothing and we are committed to the peace process," he said.

The ULFA insurgents had released a video of the abducted boy on Monday, purportedly showing the boy beleaguered with armed terrorists. The masked terrorists were asking Chief Minister and his family to fulfill their demands to ensure their beloved release from the captivity.
