Puttaparthi (AP): Spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba continues to be in a very critical condition on Saturday, doctors attending on him said.

"Sai Baba continues to be in the same clinical condition as Friday. He continues to be very critical," A N Safaya, Director, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, said in a medical bulletin issued here.

"He is still on ventilator support. A cycle of slow hemodialysis has been completed on him this morning," it said.

A panel of doctors is monitoring him round-the-clock.

The 86-year-old Sai Baba was hospitalised on March 28 following problems related to heart and respiration.

Additional police forces have been deployed to Puttaparthi as there was growing concern over the godman's health.
