Puttaparthi (AP): Sri Satya Sai Baba continues to be critical but his vital parameters are nearly normal, doctors attending on him said on Sunday. The spiritual leader is undergoing treatment for multi-organ dysfunction.

"Sri Satya Sai Baba completes his 20th day of stay in this hospital. The vital parameters of his health are nearly normal," a health bulletin issued on Sunday morning by A N Safaya, Director of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, said.

"He continues to be on assisted ventilation. He is also receiving CRRT system of dialysis. His liver functioning is yet to recover fully," it said.

"He continues to be in a critical state of health and is being constantly watched by the panel of specialist doctors attending on him," the bulletin added.

The 86-year-old Satya Sai Baba was admitted to the hospital on March 28 following problems related to heart and respiration.
