Bareilly: In an attempt to attract female customers, State Bank of India has come up with an innovative scheme of making provision of dressing room along with the locker facility.

Assistant General Manager Rakesh Rana, Branch  Manager, here said the facility aims to prevent the additional trip back home to those females coming to the bank to collect their deposited jewellery.

“Though the provision of the dressing room is a pure business trick, it is also a way to reduce risks instead of attracting the customers completely,” Rana added.

The main branch of SBI, Bareilly has already started off with the scheme and the plans are to extend the scheme across Uttar Pradesh.

According to the SBI administration, more than two dozen makeup items like bindis, sindoor, kajal, nail polish, lipstick, lotions, foundation, hair curler, hair band, eye liner, perfumes are available for free.

Locker incharge, NK Aggarawal said the bank has no objection if the customers wish to take the makeup items with them.

Senior manager of the main branch AK Aggrawal said that before Rakesh Rana came up with this scheme, 170 out of 1100 lockers were lying vacant but now only 52 are empty. Among them, three fourth have been deliberately kept vacant for important situations.

Already impressed with the facility, Bank’s Chief General Manager from Lucknow, Abhay Kumar Singh and General Manager Rajendra Kumar not only gave nod to continue with the scheme but also expressed their desire to extend it across the state, he added.
