Patna: In an incident that could go a long way in setting examples of drive against corruption, a primary school started functioning from the confiscated house of suspended IAS official Shiv Shankar Verma here on Thursday.

District Education Officer M Das inaugurated the school on Thursday morning.

Surprised over their majestic new school building, students and teachers moved around to look over other facilities in the three-storey building.

Later on, they attended classes in the spacious dining hall and other rooms and had their lunch, provided under the government's midday meal scheme.

It is noteworthy that the three-storey building ornated with marble, precious stones and expensive interiors, was confiscated by the state government on a court order.

Suspended IAS officer Shiv Shankar Verma is facing charges in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
