Kolkata: The doors for international cooperation for industrial and technology advancement is all open, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Sunday during the diamond jubilee celebration of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata.

Emphasizing on the advancement in the field of science, Singh said that it is important to boost young talent in the field of scientific research.

He laid stress on the Civil Nuclear energy programme and said, “Nuclear energy is important to increase the pace of development. It is environment friendly and country is in a dire need of it.” 
Singh said that Saha Institue has played a crucial role in the development of the country by its research work and will be capable enough to fulfill the nuclear energy demand.

Addressing the faculty of the institute, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Governor MK Narayan  and other ministers who were present at the occasion, Singh mentioned that Central government is ready to provide infrastructure facility for the establishment of scientific research institute in the country.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who was also present said that Sir Jagdishchandra Bose and Satyendra Basu gave special contribution in creating a golden era for West Bengal. “Certain reason affected the image of Bengal but now West Bengal will revamp itself to bring that golden era again”, said Mamata.
