Gwalior: After getting nominated his supporters for the posts of Congress district presidents in the Gwalior-Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia will have to play a crucial role in ensuring the victory of party candidates in the region.

Scindia has set a target of 25 MLAs to get elected from the region. Presently, the Congress has 10 MLAs out of 34 Assembly constituencies in the Gwalior-Chambal region.

The Union Minister will have to strive hard in his own parliamentary constituency Guna and Shivpuri region, as the party could manage to win a lone Pichhor seat during 2008 Assembly polls in the region.

It is worth mentioning that Congress strongman KP Singh has been winning Pichhor Assembly seat on his own efforts. Gwalior has three Congress MLAs and the party had not received massive support in the urban area.

Commenting on the poll preparation, Scindia said, “The Congress workers would be deployed at booth level.” He is planning to visit the area to boost the morale of the party workers.
