Udhampur: A suspected Pakistani terrorist was caught alive after militants today attacked a BSF convoy on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur killing two men of the border guarding force and injuring 11 personnel, while the other terrorist involved in the strike was shot dead inretaliatory fire.

Erbil(Iraq): A US air strike in Afghanistan has killed a high-ranking al Qaeda operational commander, the US military said on Friday. The US military named the target of the strike as Abu Khalil al-Sudani, saying he was killed in a July 11 strike in the Bermal district of Afghanistan's Paktika province.

Pul-e Alam (Afghanistan): At least 14 Afghan soldiers were killed in a US air strike on an army checkpoint in a Taliban-infested province south of Kabul today, officials said. "At 6.00 am this morning, two US helicopters attacked a checkpoint in Baraki Barak district of Logar province," District Governor Mohammad Rahim Amin told reporters.
