Patna: The filing of nomination papers for the first phase of Bihar Assembly polls, slated to be held on October 12, has begun today, an official said. In the first phase, elections will be held in 49 of the 243 assembly constituencies. "The process for the five-phase assembly elections in Bihar has begun," Additional Chief Electoral Officer R. Lakshamanan said here.

New Delhi: Russian conglomerate Sistema JSFC's Indian telecom arm, SSTL, has decided not to bid for spectrum in the upcoming auction due to its high reserve price and some issues that are yet to be resolved by the Department of Telecom related to March 2013 auction.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court yesterday asked the Vodafone Mobile Services to deposit with the government Rs 2,000 crore under various heads, including one-time spectrum charge and licence fees, for the merger of its four entities Vodafone East, Vodafone South and Vodafone Cellular and Vodafone Digilink into it.
