Chief Justice of Karnataka HC transferred, 22 Additional Judges appointed

New Delhi: On a day it brought into force a law to appoint members to the higher judiciary, government on Monday appointed 22 Additional Judges and transferred the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court based on recommendations of the collegium which the new legislation seeks to replace.

Mobile phone services can raise farmers' income by Rs 56,000 crore: Report

New Delhi: The income of seven crore small scale farmers in the country can be increased by Rs 56,000 crore over the next 5 years by introducing simple mobile  phone based services, says a report.Simple mobile services like agricultural information, payments and loans, field audit and local supply chain can enhance earnings of almost two-thirds of farmers by an average of Rs 8,000 per year, it said.
