Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator from Tirupati, M Venkatrmana, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 67.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced a substantial pay hike for state government employees. He announced a "43 percent fitment" in pay revision with retrospective effect from June 2, 2014, when the bifurcation came into effect.

Rajahmundry: The Andhra Pradesh government has taken up a massive tree plantation program in the state by planting 25 crore saplings this year. After participating in Kartheeka Vanmahotsavam in Peddapuram mandal, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said these plantations were necessary to maintain ecological balance which requires at least 33 percent forest cover whereas our statistics show that the state has only 20-21 percent greenery.
