Mumbai: In true Khiladi style, Akshay Kumar has wrapped up his year at the box office on a high note. After delivering three back-to-back hits — 'Baby', 'Gabbar Is Back' and 'Brothers', in that order — the actor has only raised the bar with his latest release, 'Singh Is Bliing' for a couple of reasons. One, the film has proved to be his biggest opener so far (Rs 20.67 crore on Friday). Two, it has clinched the second spot in the list of 2015's highest first weekend grossers, raking in Rs 54.44 crore.

Mumbai: Filmmaker Kabir Khan’s espionage drama Phantom, which is based on aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, has collected Rs 33 crore in its opening weekend. The film starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif has emerged as the biggest opener in this genre beating Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby, which was a bigger film. Phantom raked in a little over Rs 33 crore in its opening weekend itself.
