Chandigarh: To exploit the tourism potential of sub-mountain regions of Shivalik hills along its border with Himachal Pradesh, the Punjab government on Friday announced the setting up of the Shivalik (Dhauladhar) Tourism Development Board.

Patna: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) averted a major tragedy on the occasion of Chhath at the famous Konhara Ghat near Hajipur in Vaishali district of Bihar, after its personnel caught a snake that ventured into a crowd of thousands of devotees present there, a senior NDRF official said on Thursday.

Itanagar: To tap the state's agriculture potential, Arunachal Pradesh has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Spice Board of India to cultivate spices in the state. Horticulture secretary Suresh Kumar signed the MoU representing the state government on Sunday, while Spices Board member Dr Hatobin Mai was the signatory of the MoU in presence of the Board's chairman A Jayathilak, an official release said on Monday.
