New Delhi: Country witnessed a 17 per cent increase in communal violence incidents in 2015 as compared to last year with Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra registering the most number of such incidents and deaths, Parliament was informed.

New Delhi: Under attack from Opposition over the Communal Violence Bill, Law Minister Kapil Sibal on Saturday defended it, saying that the proposed law is not violative of the country's federal structure and is required, as several state governments have been accused of shielding those guilty of targetted violence.
