New Delhi: A train coach attendant was on Thursday arrested here for allegedly molesting a 32-year-old woman passenger on board the premier Rajdhani train. According to police, the accused has been identified as Dharmendra.

Agartala: The Left-ruled Tripura on Wednesday decided to withdraw the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) which gives sweeping powers and judicial immunity to security forces in conflict-hit areas. The law was enforced in the state 18 years ago to curb terrorism.

Kochi: In a significant ruling, the Kerala High Court on Friday said that being a Maoist is not a crime and police can not detain a person merely because he is a Maoist. "Being a Maoist is of no crime, though the political ideology of Maoists would not synchronise with our constitutional polity. It is a basic human right to think in terms of human aspirations," it said.
