Bhubaneswar: Fire broke out at the Home Department in the ground floor of the state secretariat building here on Monday, the police said. The fire was first spotted at the store room of the Home Department by an air-conditoner mechanic. There was no casualty or any major damage to the government properties, informed fire officer T K Babu.

Koraput: Almost a month after cyclone Hudhud hit Odisha, seven tribal families of remote Podaguda village, 100 km from here in Koraput district, claim they are yet to get aid to reconstruct their houses. After gusty wind ripped through their houses on October 12, these tribal families have taken shelter on the verandah of fellow villagers.
