ISRO Launches PSLV-C35 Carrying 8 Satellites For Ocean And Weather Studies

Sriharikota: Indian space agency ISRO on Monday, for the first time, used its own multiple burn technology while launching eight satellites - five foreign and three domestic - in different orbits, said a senior official.  Multiple burn technology is the switching off and switching on of a rocket's engine in space.

New Delhi: Indian state-run banks have collectively made an operating profit of nearly Rs 35,000 crore this fiscal, but the massive provisioning for bad debts has pared their net profit down to Rs 222 crore, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Friday, adding they had finally turned the corner and reported a cumulative net profit.

Cold claims seven more lives, toll touches sixty-nine

Severe cold wave claimed seven more lives in Uttar Pradesh taking the toll this winter to 69. Two people lost their lives in Barabanki, one each in Gonda, Deoria, Ballia, Banda, and Hamirpur districts. According to Met office, maximum temperature continued to be below normal by 6 to 11 degrees Celsius in parts of the state.
