Severe cold wave claimed seven more lives in Uttar Pradesh taking the toll this winter to 69. Two people lost their lives in Barabanki, one each in Gonda, Deoria, Ballia, Banda, and Hamirpur districts. According to Met office, maximum temperature continued to be below normal by 6 to 11 degrees Celsius in parts of the state.

Lucknow: Overcast skies and a slight drizzle in some parts of Uttar Pradesh gave people some relief from the summer heat today.The Regional Met Department has predicted moderate to very heavy rains in eastern parts of the state, including capital Lucknow. Met office Director JP Gupta said the temperature is likely to fall by three-four degrees over the next 24 hours till Sunday morning.
