Berlin: In a historic move, Germany has decided to introduce a 30 percent quota for women on the supervisory boards of all large companies from 2016. Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday welcomed the decision by her Christian Democratic Union (CDU), its Bavarian ally Christian Social Union (CSU) and the centre-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) to implement a key provision of their coalition treaty signed a year ago.
