New Delhi: Government is taking all steps to tackle any unforeseen situation arising out of below-normal monsoon this year and states are also alert on the matter, a top official said ON Thursday. "All steps are being taken. The state governments are fully alert to this. Meteorological Department has put out a very careful estimate about what the rainfall likelihood will be," Consumer Affairs Secretary Keshav Desiraju explained here.

Fire erupts at Odisha Home Department

Bhubaneswar: Fire broke out at the Home Department in the ground floor of the state secretariat building here on Monday, the police said. The fire was first spotted at the store room of the Home Department by an air-conditoner mechanic. There was no casualty or any major damage to the government properties, informed fire officer T K Babu.
