New Delhi: Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has selected Nokia Networks for the rollout its 3G services in five telecom circles and network expansion in three zones. Under the four-year contract, Nokia will provide its equipment and services to Bharti Airtel's infrastructure.

New Delhi: Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson today appointed Paolo Colella as India Head with effect from September 1. Colella succeeds Chris Houghton who will assume the role as Head of North East Asia region, the company said in a statement. Ericsson said in his new role, Colella will take a seat on Ericsson’s Global Leadership Team, reporting to Chairman of Region India and Senior vice president Asia-Pacific, Mats H Olsson.

New Delhi: India has proposed that Internet should be managed through multi-stakeholder approach and the governments should have "supreme right and control" on matters relating to national security. A committee on Internet governance has favoured the approach and decided that the country should try to collaborate with US on the matter, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
