Kathmandu: Aftershocks continue to jolt Nepal over a month after the country's worst quake struck, with fresh tremors felt today. A 4-magnitude aftershock was recorded at 1.55 am, with epicentre at Dhading district, according to the National Seismological Centre, Kathmandu. With this, total number of aftershocks since the April 25 quake has reached 291.

TOKYO: A magnitude 8.5 earthquake struck off the east coast of Japan today, shaking buildings in Tokyo, but there was no danger of a tsunami and no reports of damage since the quake was extremely deep.There were no reports of further irregularities at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant, damaged four years ago in a massive 9.0 magnitude quake, or any other nuclear facilities.

Kathmandu: Four mild tremors jolted Nepal early on Thursday, a month after a devastating earthquake ravaged the country and killed nearly 9,000 people. A 4.0 magnitude tremor was felt at 5.29 am local time in the Nepalese capital.

Kathmandu: Japan on Tuesday provided USD 3 million assistance to Nepal as its emergency response in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake as it underlined the need to quickly deliver the aid to people ahead of the monsoon. The assistance provided through the World Food Programme will be utilised for procuring emergency food as well as essential logistics services for the entire humanitarian community, said a statement issued by the WFP Nepal.
