Fitch lowers India's economic growth projections

New Delhi: Global rating agency Fitch has lowered India's economic growth projections to 7.8 percent for the current fiscal from 8 percent earlier. Fitch, however, said it expects that India's GDP growth rate this year to surpass China's for the first time since 1999, forecasting an acceleration to 8.1 percent in 2016-17 before settling back to 8.0 percent in 2017-18.
