Priyanka may contest from Rae Bareli

Priyanka may contest from Rae Bareli

In what could be termed as a transfer of Indira Gandhi’s political legacy, Congress star campaigner and party President Sonia’s daughter, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra may contest Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli. If the sources close to the Congress high-command are to be believed, Priyanka Vadra may replace Sonia Gandhi as the party candidate from Rae Bareli in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Undoubtedly, Priyanka’s striking resemblance to Indira Gandhi has a great mass appeal. Sonia may make way for her daughter by vacating Rae Bareli seat. Rahul Gandhi has already taken charge as Congress Vice-President during Jaipur Chintan Shivir. Now, Priyanka, who has been away from active politics, is gearing up to join the legacy of her grandmother. Sources said that Priyanka has not only groomed party cadres for the forthcoming General Elections but has also deputed them Sonia Gandhi’s constituency.
