J&K floods: Insurance claims of nearly Rs 832 crore settled

Jammu: Insurance claims amounting to Rs 831.91 crore of those affected by last year's floods have been settled by different banks in Jammu and Kashmir. Banks had so far settled 23,740 insurance claims worth Rs 831.91 crore till January 10, according to state Finance Department officials.

New Delhi: In the wake of the unprecedented floods which caused havoc last year in Jammu and Kashmir, the state is all set to get its first, modern Flood Forecasting System with the Central Water Commission (CWC) planning to set up such facilities at about 25 sites in Kashmir Valley.
