Jammu: Insurance claims amounting to Rs 831.91 crore of those affected by last year's floods have been settled by different banks in Jammu and Kashmir. Banks had so far settled 23,740 insurance claims worth Rs 831.91 crore till January 10, according to state Finance Department officials.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Cabinet on Sunday passed a resolution to request the Centre to withdraw its notification declaring vast stretch between Gomukh to Uttarkashi in the state as an eco-sensitive zone. Apart from this the cabinet gave nod to the 'Mera Gaon Meri Sadak' scheme and also took decisions related to the new sports policy of the state and other issues.
