Jaipur: Counting of votes in four Assembly constituencies of Rajasthan, which went to poll on September 13, is underway on Wednesday. The counting of votes began in the four district headquarters of Jhunjhunu, Ajmer, Kota and Bharatpur at 08:00 am. 23 candidates including four each of BJP and Congress were in the fray for the by-elections in Surajgarh, Nasirabad, Weir and Kota-South constituencies.

Ahmedabad: Counting of votes in by-polls to nine Assembly and one Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat began this morning where stakes are high for BJP which holds all the ten seats. A total of 45 candidates are in the fray for nine Assembly seats and four for the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat, vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hyderabad: Counting of votes in the bypolls held for Medak Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana and Nandigama Assembly seat in Andhra Pradesh began Wednesday morning amid tight security arrangements. The by-poll in Medak parliamentary seat was necessitated due to the resignation of TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao after he became the Chief Minister.

Vadodara: The mortal remains of a Gujarat fisherman, who died under mysterious conditions in a Pakistani jail in July, will be flown back home on 18th September to Mumbai, from where he will be taken to his native village. According to Gujarat Fisheries Commissioner, P L Darbar, a communication in this regard has been received from the Centre and the office of the Indian High Commissioner based in Pakistan.
