Thiruvananthapuram: Two weeks after Maoists and police exchanged fire in Wayanad, a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet and two offices of the Forest department were on Monday attacked by suspected Maoists in Palakkad and Wayanad districts.

Dehradun: With icy winds sweeping the state the Uttarakhand government has asked the District Magistrates to take measures to ensure that there are no deaths due to cold. Chief Minister Harish Rawat reviewed the cold situation in the state through a video-conference, an official release issued on Friday said.
