Ranbir Kapoor detained at <strong>airport</strong>, fined for customs violation

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor was detained on Saturday and fined about Rs 60,000 on undeclared branded personal goods he was carrying at the Mumbai International airport, a customs official said. The 30-year-old actor was later let off. Kapoor, who landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport on a British Airways flight from London at about 12.30 AM on Saturday, was walking away with branded goods in his luggage that required to be declared before the authorities.

Fuel <strong>hike</strong> makes petrol cheaper than diesel in Goa

After the Friday’s hike in fuel prices introduced by the Central Government, petrol has become cheaper than diesel in the Western Indian state of Goa. While petrol is currently priced at Rs 52.10 per litre, the hike of 90 paise (Rs 1.09 post state government tax) takes the price of diesel to Rs 52.70 per litre.

Spot-fixing probe getting muddled!

The parallel but inverse investigations of the Mumbai Crime Branch and the Delhi Police into the Indian Premier League spot-fixing allegations might be working at cross-purposes. With both the police teams probing and making arrests in the case, confusion and confrontation have set the tempo for the investigation.After the Crime Branch raided a suburban hotel where Sreesanth stayed before his arrest by the Delhi cops, the latter arrived at Trident hotel at Marine Drive to check CCTV footage. There seems to be no coordination between the two agencies, rued officials.
