The death toll in Wednesday's bus accident on the Kullu-Mandi national highway climbed to 40 on Thursday with the recovery of four more bodies while another four persons succumbed to their injuries.

Seven persons, including three women and an infant lost their lives and five others sustained injuries as the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a tree near Mandla in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, the police said.
