Idukki/Kochi: Nine persons died and several others were reported to be missing as a string of landslides triggered by heavy downpour battered Idukki and adjoining districts of Kerala on Monday. The Cochin International Airport has been temporarily closed and two flights were diverted as the runway got water-logged.

Idukki (Kerala): Rescuers have started looking for possible survivors on Tuesday in rain-ravaged Idukki district of Kerala, where a string of landslides claimed 14 lives, even as Cochin International Airport was yet to resume operations. Cochin airport was closed on Monday after flood waters made its way into the runway.
