New Delhi/Lucknow: A day after his arrest, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Jitender Singh Tomar was today taken to Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh by Delhi Police for questioning in the fake degree case but he maintained that the allegations were false and accused the Centre of hatching a 'conspiracy'.

Kochi: In a significant ruling, the Kerala High Court on Friday said that being a Maoist is not a crime and police can not detain a person merely because he is a Maoist. "Being a Maoist is of no crime, though the political ideology of Maoists would not synchronise with our constitutional polity. It is a basic human right to think in terms of human aspirations," it said.

Ludhiana: Five people were killed and over 100 others had to be hospitalised after inhaling hazardous fumes in an ammonia gas tanker leak early today in the district, police said. The incident occurred when the tanker got stuck under a flyover along a canal on the Doraha bypass road, about 25-km from here, they said.
