New Delhi: In an order that would speed up construction work of Indian Railways and metro rail in various cities, Supreme Court today stayed an order of National Green Tribunal directing them to seek prior environmental clearances (ECs) for their projects like dedicated freight corridor.

New Delhi: Delhi Metro train commuters are likely to shell out more with a panel recommending a sharp increase of upto 66 per cent in ticket prices. A source privy to the report said that the panel has recommended the lowest fares to be increased to Rs 10 from Rs 8 now, and the maximum fare to Rs 50 from Rs 30 at present.

Mumbai/New Delhi: The second ship of the Project 15B, a guided missile destroyer christened 'Mormugao' for Indian Navy, will be launched in Mumbai on September 17. The Mazgoan Shipyard, which is building the ship will also outsource work for 10 blocks to involve private ship building yard in the programme.

Bengaluru: India's technology hub of Bengaluru deployed riot police on Monday to rein in protests as a water dispute turned violent, with cars and buses set of fire and people pelted with stones. Television footage showed flames pouring from burnt-out vehicles as angry crowds gathered nearby, while police said the local metro network had been temporarily suspended.
